Asbestos was used in brakes, clutches and transmissions of cars and other vehicles.  Many mechanics, employees in automotive repair shops, and do-it-yourselfers are unaware that asbestos may still be present in both old and replacement parts. Many thousands of mechanics have been diagnosed with mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases in the last 30 years.  Today, there are OSHA guidelines to help protect individuals who work on cars and other vehicles.
